The disciplines of indoor skydiving
21/01/2021Yes it is! Although these two sports are complementary and quite similar, there are some differences between them.
Indoor Skydiving, also known as Bodyflying, is a new and modern sport. Its popularity has increased every year and is in the process of becoming an Olympic sport. Indoor Skydiving allows you to practice your body’s stability and perfect maneuvers for as long as you wish. Normal flight sessions in the wind tunnel last between 2 and 15 minutes, while a normal skydive only lasts between 45 to 60 seconds. It is for this reason that wind tunnels are the perfect place for skydivers to practice and improve their movements before a jump. Ask any of the best skydivers today and they will tell you how important wind tunnels have become for skydiving.
Indoor Skydiving is safer.
Skydiving is an inherently risky sport and, for the most part, it is only accessible to people over 18. On the other hand, wind tunnels provide a controlled and safe environment where anyone over 4 years old can experience the sensation of free falling. In skydiving, there are usually no references that you are falling towards the ground, however, in the wind tunnels, the glass walls give you an exact reference for your movements. Inside the wind tunnel, it is also possible to fly upwards, changing the position of the body. This feeling is only possible in Indoor Skydiving and it is absolutely exciting!
Indoor Skydiving is not dependent on the weather.
Skydiving is very dependent on the weather. When there is too much wind or rain, skydiving suspends operations. In the wind tunnel this does not happen and it is possible to fly all year round, in any weather condition. Since Indoor Skydiving can be done at any time, this means that there will be no additional waiting time on the floor and you will not have to worry about rescheduling the flight for unexpected reasons.
Another very important difference is the cost.
Skydiving is a very expensive activity when you are trying it out for the first time and even more when you consider becoming certified and buying your own equipment to jump alone. With Indoor Skydiving, you don’t need to empty your bank account to feel the thrill of freefall. This makes Indoor Skydiving the perfect experience to share with friends, family, or even alone. It is also the perfect activity for groups, teambuilding events, and parties.
